My Story
 

My experience in human resources started in graduate school - I NEVER loved going to class as much as I did then. I couldn't put my textbooks down. I was so fascinated by this industry that had the potential to truly change the trajectory of someone's life. From hiring practices to employee engagement initiatives to people and culture strategies - what I loved the most about human resources was that it was PEOPLE focused, contrary to what most people thought. At the time of obtaining my Master's I was working in the sports industry, but after going through my program it was a no brainer that I would switch to work in HR.

I haven't looked back since. 

 

Since working in HR, my experience includes the following:

• Process and procedure optimization for department and companywide initiatives. 

• Created a company's inaugural handbook, payroll process, marketing and business strategic plan, and all founding documents. 

• Creating a dynamic bench & pipeline process, strategically expanding our candidate outreach and effectively decreasing time-to-hire by 23 days. 

• Reviewing over 1000 resumes, ranging from entry level to C-Suite and spanning various industries. 

• Architected a cutting-edge curriculum to empower recruiters at all levels with the essential tools and knowledge required to source inclusively, resulting in over 70% of placements being diverse. 

• Spearheaded the creating of an interactive onboarding process for employees, reducing the time to onboard by one week. 

• Served on the global DEIB Leadership Committee, specifically the employee engagement and retention team. 

• Oversaw the development of scalable operational support tools, processes, and documentation for 50+ employees across various functions including in-house recruiting, staffing, hiring, training, sourcing, and branding.

• Championed a culture plan to effectively restructure the talent department's existing culture to be more inclusive, intentional, and unified - boosting employee satisfaction by 10%. 

• Kept abreast of all state and federal employment laws and ensure compliance in all HR activities.

• Guided a department to creating and implementing the first performance review process on their team, and advised the team on promotions, negotiations, and disciplinary actions.

• Created companywide DEIB trainings, including but not limited to:

  • How to Be an Authentic Ally​

  • How to Have Crucial Conversations with Colleagues, Clients, and Candidates.

  • How to Interview Inclusively

I could go on, but you get the picture. People are my priority. In every role that I have had, I am dedicated to ensuring that the end goal is benefitting both the company and the employee.

When I'm not working - I'm finding the joy in the days. Whether it's playing with my dogs or laughing with my husband, I have always strived to find peace in the small moments. This world can often make us feel like joy is only attainable in the loud, large moments - but so much of what I love is remembering the joy that is found in the simple ones.
