We’ve all been there.
Life is going well, and we feel like we're in a good rhythm. Then suddenly, the enemy sneaks in and plants seeds of doubt in our minds. These thoughts, often subtle, can trip us up easily and cause us to question ourselves, our purpose, and even God’s plan for us. But there’s good news—God has given us the ultimate tool to combat these lies: Scripture. The beautiful thing about God’s word is that it is living and breathing, and can apply to so much of what we experience daily.
Let’s expose the lies of the enemy and replace them with God’s truth.
"I am not ______ enough to do this."
Fill in the blank with whatever insecurity comes to mind: “I’m not smart enough,” “I’m not strong enough,” “I’m not experienced enough.” But the truth is, if God has called you to something, you are more than enough. The enemy doesn’t want you to succeed in the plans God has for you. His worst fear is that you’ll step into your purpose and thrive.
Scripture to hold onto: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
That scripture doesn't say some things - it says ALL things.
What God calls you to do, He equips you to accomplish. Don’t let the enemy cause you to doubt what you’ve heard from God. Even if it begins to look different than you thought - you are more than enough because God is with you.
"My business won’t be successful."
The enemy loves to whisper this lie, making you feel like failure is inevitable. But here’s the truth: success is not in our hands, it’s in God’s. You can do everything right and still not see the success you envisioned. That doesn’t mean you’ve failed—it just means God’s plan looks different from what you expected.
What we’re responsible for is daily obedience, not the outcome.
Scripture to hold onto: “So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.”— 1 Corinthians 3:7 (NKJV)
The enemy wants you to believe the weight of your business’s success rests solely on your shoulders. But God is the one who brings the increase, not us. Let go of the pressure and trust Him. When we free ourselves of this pressure, we can rest in God’s unwavering strength.
"This is too hard."
Yes, life has its challenges, and entrepreneurship is certainly one of them. But remember this: nothing is too hard for God. What feels impossible to you is merely an opportunity for Him to show His power.
Scripture to hold onto: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.” — Jeremiah 32:17 (NKJV)
When things feel heavy, it’s not your cue to give up—it’s your reminder to lay it all at God’s feet. That’s when He can do His best work. The enemy wants you to believe that you’re alone in this fight, but God is always ready to carry the load for you.
"I don’t have the energy to overcome this mountain."
The enemy’s tactic is to wear you down, to keep you running on empty so that you feel too exhausted to continue. But God gives strength to the weary, and His power is made perfect in our weakness.
Scripture to hold onto: “He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.” — Isaiah 40:29 (NKJV)
Don’t buy into the lie that you need to have endless energy to do what God has called you to do. Rest in Him, and He will renew your strength.
"Someone else is better suited for this role."
Comparison is another trick of the enemy. He wants you to believe that someone else could do it better, that you’re somehow less qualified. But God doesn’t make mistakes—He chose you for a reason.
Scripture to hold onto: “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.” — 1 Corinthians 1:27 (NKJV)
God knew exactly what He was doing when He called you. Trust that He has equipped you for this role, and don’t let the enemy steal your confidence.
Conclusion about lies of the enemy
No matter what the enemy tries to tell you, the truth is always found in God’s Word. When we combat the lies with Scripture, we strip the enemy of his power and stand firm in the truth that God has already spoken over our lives.
Let’s rest in that truth today.
